Your gracious and elegant new home awaits!

This home has been lovingly and painstakingly renovated, from top to bottom, by the current owners over the last four years. The pictures (below) speak for themselves, but the feel of the home must be experienced in person to truly appreciate. Abundant light, graceful rooms, a layout conducive to entertaining on large or small scale, and finishes of the very finest quality abound.

A bluestone walkway leads to the limestone ensconced front doors that have been commissioned from custom woodworkers in glass and mahogany, standing nine feet tall with Baldwin hardware. Enter the double-height foyer to experience an immediate sense of grandeur, scale, and welcome. The effect of the unified color scheme and décor is instantly calming. You are home. The balcony overlooking the foyer showcases the inlaid Ann Sacks striated marble tiles, grained like wood, laid in a chevron pattern. This tableau is set in newly installed antique, character grade, walnut flooring, in six inch widths that has been installed throughout the main floor, up the winding staircase and across the landing. The mahogany banister was removed and reinstalled to allow for walnut stair treads to be installed, which have now been covered in a creamy, silk stair runner. A modern chandelier provides a sharp counterpoint to the hand-blocked Italian Damask wallpaper from Romo.

The front-to-back foyer grants a view of the generous 1.3 acre yard, surrounded by trees for utmost privacy. The foyer, and many of the rooms of the main floor, have been graced by inset, custom-crafted wainscoting that winds up the stairs, merges with a new window seat on the landing, and then winds to the second floor. Matching wainscoting accents the dining room, first floor powder room, and master bedroom, as well. Custom Corbett chandeliers have been installed throughout.

The main floor features a living room perfectly sized for intimate conversations and gatherings. In this room, the homeowners have installed wallpaper made of actual Mica stone, to match the stonework of the front elevation of the home. The entire front façade of the home is crafted of Wissahickon Mica Schist, the material used on the most venerable Main Line mansions for over one hundred years. A bowed window in the living room showcases the depth of the walls in this home, evoking old-world construction. Crown moldings and window trims have been expanded in this room, high-hat lighting has been added, and honed soapstone now dramatically accents the hearth and fireplace surround.

Off the living room, the powder room features new sconces, crown molding, wainscoting and a new Schumacher wallpaper and a marble sink with chrome base. Similar changes in the study create a serene retreat, with crown molding, Ralph Lauren Aspen wallpaper, and expanded window trim.

Across the foyer, the kitchen stuns with no sign of its former faux-Tuscan flavor. An arched entry leads to a serene, glamorous, transitional-style kitchen with beaded, inset, Wood-Mode cabinetry finished in light gray tones, topped with acres of Calacatta Gold marble. The center island of the double-island kitchen features a double width slab of this precious, rare marble, a Franke prep sink, and chrome faucet from American Standard. The Wolf range with four burners, grill and griddle is now capped with a custom-made stainless steel and chrome Vent-a-Hood, a centerpiece of the kitchen remodel. A glowing, glass, silver foil, overscale subway tile from Ann Sacks completes the backsplash. The kitchen features two dishwashers, a warming drawer, and two refrigerator drink drawers. Accenting the kitchen are a marble-topped wine bar and buffet. This may be a chef’s kitchen, but it is also a show-stopper.

Accessible from the kitchen, the Butler’s Pantry has been redone as a bar, with dark gray cabinetry, double-thickness soapstone counters, a wine refrigerator, a hand-hammered bar sink with Grohe faucet and a backsplash to match the kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen, the light-filled morning room sports expanded window trim and baseboards, the height of which have been raised throughout the main floor to better match the scale of the ten foot ceilings. The kitchen, morning room, and family room complete an open floor plan of flowing space accented by walls of windows to the expansive yard. The dramatic two-story family room features walnut floors, a built-in TV cabinet, a two-story, stacked-stone fireplace, vaulted, beamed ceiling, and a Juliette balcony.

At the front of the home, the dining room can easily seat sixteen people for convivial dinner parties, and the new built-in breakfront just makes the room. Custom-designed and custom-crafted, the breakfront features storage for China and wine, an antiqued mirror, Calacatta Gold marble, and hand-made cabinet pulls in chrome and Edelman leather. Sconces match the custom Corbett chandelier.

In the mudroom, you’ll find two closets, built-in cubbies and cabinets, and a newly remodeled powder room with marble counter and chrome base. The three-car garage is oversize, and features custom garage cabinetry and storage. Want the lift in the garage so you can park four cars? We’ll throw it in for a full-price offer.

Downstairs, a large, partially finished basement offers endless possibilities, and already features carpeting, a powder room and a fireplace. Bonus space has now been finished off upstairs, with a 900 sq. ft. third floor currently used as a media and play room with two closets. Crown molding, carpeting and lighting have all been added.

On the second floor, custom, hand-loomed Tibetan wool carpeting feels lush and luxurious throughout. Five bedrooms await, all with added crown molding and trim. In the master bedroom, a truly indulgent hand-loomed Tibetan damask carpet and dramatic chandelier are complemented by newly installed beams, wainscoting, and two walk-in closets. All closets in the house feature custom cabinetry.

The systems of this house have been automated during the renovation. Nearly every light inside and out can now be app-controlled by the Lutron System, apps control the whole-house Sonos sound system, and Vector security system with seven exterior cameras. All can be operated remotely, as well. Intercoms connect main rooms. Extensive upgrades to the landscaping and lighting have been completed, outside.
